Re: Bugs Question

They are not as bad now as they were a week ago. Bring some kinda of insect repellant anyway. Campfires help at night.

Re: Bugs Question

I just read that Listerine is the best repellent out there. You put it in a pump sprayer and spray it on the ground or around doors and windows (not on wood though) or areas that you will be in (not on yourself either). The article said it kills them and keeps them away for a couple of days, and it's cheaper than the stuff we regularly use and work and lasts better. Spray your chair and the ground around you and you're good. I'm gonna try it.

Not as good as the article reads, but does pretty well. If working right on the lake and it is shady in the early morning and mid afternoon. I spray the ground around the area I'm building the deck and the area I'm doing my cutting. I also spray my hat. It definetly slows them down a great deal, as they are swarming in the beginning, but it doesn't eradicate them. They still hover around, but don't seem to lite & bite. So, I guess it works as well as all the other stuff, but a little longer and so much cheaper.
