Pretty close. Only about 20 miles outside of Albany. Easy run from the Mass. Pike

You can't buy tickets at the gate, you have to buy them in advance. I've been to behind the barn myself. To bad they don't have it anymore.

you can still get tickets! there is a gas station down the road where you buy them still!
I might go sat morning for a little while.
