Are you looking for new, previously owned, used (might need work)?

Do you have a good Independant shop around you that might be able to locate a used one? I did this for my sheet metal on my '03 due to the fact I wanted to save my over priced Anniversary sheet metal.

I do know someone replacing his tank I will drop him a line and see if he going forward with it. He has a '01 WG. Tank I think has a small dent. he is replacing with a bigger tank with fins for that custom look at the seat.

Used is fine.... I would like to find one in good condition.

My cuz unfortunately kissed the rear end of a pickup last year. He got hurt but is ok... the bike got scuffed, pretty minor damage, bars and the tank has a softball size dent in it. I can run it with the current tank, but I thought it would be a nice gesture if I scored him a new tank and have it painted to match...

Check Ebay. I see them on there all the time. Should be able to get a good deal on a stock take off.

No go on the friend's tank. The tank he is trying to buy requires a lot of work to get it on. When will people realize a custom tank requires custom work to get it on. Rethinking his new tank now!

I will ask my favorite shop where they scored my sheet metal. They get there stuff from a guy that collects from shops and dealers the take off parts that seem to not make it back to the owners hands. That's why I asked if you knew a good independant shop.

BTW, what color is the '01 your looking to slap this on?

Try giving Seacoast HD a call, they usaully lay out a big parts table at there open houses. I scored a few parts for myself and friends last summer.

Reading "Scored a scoot for LBW!" over in the "Off Topic" area are you in need of other parts?

I have an '03 that I have replaced a lot parts (bars, lights, lower fork tubes, and many more).

I have been selling off my take off and recently replaced after market parts through discussion groups, friends and word of mouth. Waiting to get parts from this winter's work and will most likely post on eBay.

Let me know, not looking for top dollar, just looking to sell them without the shipping & packaging expense.

Styd...

I will call my cuz and see if I can pick the bike up this weekend. its at a buddys garage in salisbury that works on some of the 81 bikes. I know it definitely needs bars....

Can you send me a PM with what you have??

BTW... The bike is one of the red 01 with a chin spoiler, headlight fairing and ostrich seat. I think it was some sort of special edition.

One of the ones I wanted. I was also interested in the FXDWG III. I went hunting back in late '02 and could only find two for sale one in Michigan and the other in Ontario. Those bikes rock! I think only about 1500 made. Now I see them all over the place for sale and for a lot less than I paid for mine and most with no miles.

I'll PM you that list by tomorrow night. Will take me a bit to put together. Problem is most of your parts are Chrome, mine are polished (aka Brushed). We will see what I can dig up and I will stop by my favorite shop and ask them if they can provide me there parts contact.

Some good pics of a FXDWG II (https://windmillcycles.com/bin/com.goesnet.dportal.internet.CloserLookServlet?vehicle_inventory_item_id=2055)

Return to Scoots for sale!!
